Montreal @ Brampton Game
If you are in the Toronto area (GTA),
I highly recommend you come catch a CWHL elite women's hockey
game this Saturday December 6th, 2008! The game is the Brampton
Thunder vs. Montreal Stars. This is women's hockey at it's
finest and it's a must see for any female hockey player, fan, or
supporter.
I will be there representing for SheSkatesHard.com, and I am
looking forward to some great hockey!

Wickenheiser Hurt, But Swedes
Want Her Back
Eskilstuna wants Hayley Wickenheiser to return, even though she
won’t be able to play for the Swedish men’s hockey club for at
least
six weeks because of a knee injury.
Wickenheiser, the all-time leading scorer of the Canadian
women’s hockey team, wasn’t sure Eskilstuna would keep her after
injuring
her right knee in Sunday’s Four Nations Cup final.
“We want her back. Everybody wants her back, the sponsors and
the team,” general manager Kove Hellgren said Thursday from
Eskilstuna.

Concussions Twice As Likely For Women & Girls Hockey Players
NCAA studies show female varsity hockey players are sustaining
concussions at twice the rate of their male counterparts, making
head trauma the No.1 injury in the women’s collegiate game. With
many Canadian women competing in the NCAA loop – and 77,000
female players registered here – these disturbing numbers should
raise questions across the hockey community, such as:
Why are concussions occurring in a hockey discipline that
prohibits body checking? How can they be prevented? And why is
the larger
hockey community unaware that female players are suffering brain
injuries on a worrisome scale?
